Toyota launches first hybrid

Toyota’s first hybrid launched

MANILA – A couple of weeks after Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) marked its 32nd anniversary, they launched the very first hybrid crossover in its wide array of fleet, the new Corolla Cross.

It has been designed as “stylist urban vehicle,” it has Toyota’s signature “QDR” (quality, durability, and reliability) with its style. Its hybrid electric variant further boosts Toyota’s vision of sustainable mobility and self-charging hybrid technology more accessible to Filipinos.

Most advanced car technologies have been included in the Corolla Cross, the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA), and Toyota Safety Sense (TSS).

In his remarks TMP President Atsuhiro Okamoto said guided by their philosophy of making better cars, Toyota took their most trusted model, the Toyota Corolla and turned it into what is described as sleek and modern crossover.

“The Corolla Cross is designed to move you in comfort and style, whether you’re seeking adventure, doing business, or simply spending time with people you love,” Mr. Okamoto said.

Launched globally last month, the Corolla Cross is the latest addition to Toyota’s global bestselling Corolla series. It will be recalled since it was first launched in Japan in 1966, the Corolla series has sold about 48 million units in more than 150 countries and regions worldwide.

The New Corolla cross, with its 1.8 V HV (Hybrid) and 1.8 G CVT variants will be available at all Toyota dealers nationwide by Wednesday, August 26,2020. (Melo M. Acuña)
