Total COVID-19 cases reach 346,536 today
MANILA – The Department of Health (DOH) said the total number of cases in the country has reached nearly 350,000 with an increase of 0.55% from yesterday’s tally with 1,910 new cases. A correction was made on 87 cases.
From the 1,910 cases reported today, 1,639 or 86% took place within the recent 14 days or from October 1-14,2020. The total active cases remain at 46,227 or 13.34% of total cases or a 2.82% increase from Tuesday’s data.
The seven-day average growth is 0.72% according to existing data during the past seven days while the doubling time improved to 96.87 days.
There were 624 new cases from the National Capital Region, 219 from Cavite, 104 from Batangas, 91 from Rizal and Negros occidental at 63.
There were 579 new recoveries which brings the total to 293,860 or 84.8% recovery rate. Corrections were made on 102 cases.
There were 78 deaths, 64 of which occurred this October or 82%, 10 in September or 13%, 1 in August or 1%, 1 in July or 1% and 2 in June for 3%.
From the reported deaths, 35 were from the NCR or 45%, 12 from Region 4A or 15%, seven from Region 3 or 9%, six from Region 10 or 8%, five from Region 6 or 6%, three from Region 1 or 4%, another 3 from Region 11 or 4%, two from BARMM or 3%, 1 from Region 5 or 1%, another 1 from Region 9 for 1% and still another 1 from Region 12 for another 1%.
The government as well as private institutions have already tested 3,976,980 individuals or an additional 33,585 from the day before. (Melo M. Acuña)
