Auto sales up by 19% in December 2020
MANILA – Car and truck sales reached 27,596 units last December which is equivalent to a 19.1% increase from the 23,162 units sold in November.
This was based on a joint report from the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI) and Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA).
Atty. Rommel Gutierrez, CAMPI president said the double-digit growth of 19.1% is a positive development for the industry as the exert extra efforts to attain the pre-pandemic performance levels.
“It is noteworthy that the holiday season has contributed to the uptick in demand for auto sales in December amid the improving business and consumer confidence,” Atty. Gutierrez said.
“With CAMPI’s year-to-date sales of 223,793 units, we are optimistic that the total industry of 240,000 units for 2020 will be surpassed,” he added.
