COVID-19 cases breach 454,000
MANILA – The Department of Health (DOH) today reported 1,470 new COVID-19 cases with 633 recoveries and 17 fatalities.
In its report released at 4:00 P.M. today, the DOH said there were 25,695 active cases or 5.7% of the total number of cases which reached 454,447. From this total number of cases, 92.4% or 419,902 recoveries and 1.95% or 8,850 fatalities.
According to the same report, 74 new cases were reported from Quezon City while 64 new COVID-19 cases came from Rizal Province. There were 58 new cases from Makati while 55 COVID-19 cases were listed in Davao City and 46 cases were reported from Quezon Province.
From the total number of cases, 84.8% were mile, 6.9% were asymptomatic, 5.4% were critical, 2.7% were severe and 0.30% were moderate.
While the government and private hospitals have 1,900 ICU beds, 59% were still reported available. From 14,300 isolation beds nationwide, 64% were still free while from a total of 6,700 ward beds, 74% have remained unutilized. From the 2,000 ventilators, 80% are still free as of 4:00 P.M. today.
